Sydney Opera House, Sydney, Australia
What a love affair Sydney has with its water. You can see it everywhere. It’s more than the dozens of public fountains. More than its water taxis, ferries, freighters and yachts. It’s the way the water is integrated into their daily life.
The shape of the opera house roof and it’s location on the harbor make it look to me, like a giant ship under sail — or maybe just a bunch of sailboats all together. Either way, it’s so distinctive and so right for this remarkable place.

I sat on the grass around Circular Quay in the bright winter sun and drew to my heart’s content.
Australia is amazing.
